Privacy policy

Wisp is built to be private by design. The short version: your reading is yours. Your documents, positions, settings, and stats never leave your device. The only thing Wisp sends anywhere is anonymous usage statistics, described below.

What stays on your device

Everything you read and everything about how you read. The documents you import, your reading positions, your settings, your reading stats, and your goals all live only on your device. Wisp works fully offline. There is no account and no sign up.

What we collect

Wisp collects anonymous usage statistics through Aptabase, a privacy-focused, open source analytics service: things like which features are used, which reading speeds people choose, and how far readers get through setup. These events contain no names, no accounts, no device identifiers, and never any of your reading content. They cannot be linked to you. We use them for one purpose: making Wisp better.

App Store data

Apple may show us anonymous, aggregate numbers such as download counts and crash reports, governed by your own device settings and Apple's privacy policy. That data comes from Apple, not from anything inside Wisp.

Deleting your data

Delete the app and everything is gone, because it only ever existed on your device.

Changes

If Wisp ever adds an optional feature that needs data to leave your device, such as cloud sync, it will be opt-in, clearly explained here first, and never the default.
